Kohl's Crazy

When I get dressed to go out, whether it be to class, or to church, or just out with some friends, I'm pretty sure I feel like a walking Kohl's advertisement. Kohl's has to be my top favorite store to shop at. From clothes to kitchen ware, I can usually find what I need there. The majority of my clothing items are from Kohl's. I've recently got this new outfit from there which I love. It came from a collection there called Peter Som by DesigNation. The pieces were together in a rack with others from this collection.

One thing that I really wanted was these sort of loose pants that have a stretch band at the hips, and also have those stretch bands at the end of the pants around the ankles. These are the perfect pair! Its a light and comfortable, silk fabric with a print of pineapples on them. So cute! This collection also came with a matching tank top with a huge pineapple on the front, but I didn't end up buying the matching top. I paired the pants with this white motorcycle jacket which is now probably my favorite jacket that I own. It's actually quite heavy. You know, when you can tell its good material. This jacket has gold detail, such as the buttons up top, and the zipper. This jacket has that unique "motorcycle" quality to it by the way it zippers up. Instead  of zippering up at the middle, like other jackets do, this one has the zipper more on the body of the jacket rather than the middle. Absolutely love this jacket. I try and pair it with anything I can!

Most of what I'm wearing here is the DesigNation collection for the exception of the under shirt which I got at Old Navy for about 5 bucks (that was a great deal, they're great quality. I bought three of them). What I'm wearing on my feet are slingback wedge sandals from the brand Apt. 9, which is not part of the DesigNation but I did get them at Kohl's. The necklace that I have on here I've been eyeing for months before I actually got it. It's a silver/grey braid necklace also from the brand Apt. 9. Beautiful! This necklace can dress up any outfit. Without it, it's a lot more toned down and laid back. On my wrist I'm wearing a rose gold watch from Relic. This watch has a beautiful rim of jewels. It also shows what day it is out of the week right on it too.

Over all, I love this outfit. It is definitely an outfit that stands out so I really pick my days to wear it. I looked up these items on the Kohl's website and just followed pricing original and sales price from what was on there. I don't remember what I actually paid for them. Hope this helps!

White Motorcycle Jacket from Kohl's - Original Price $78 - Sale Price $46.80
Pineapple Soft Pants from Kohl's - Original Price $50 - Sale Price $30
Tank Top from Old Navy - $5
Slingback Wedge Sandals from Kohl's - Original Price $54.99 - Sales Price $28.99
Silver/Grey Braid Necklace from Kohl's (I can't find this exact one on the website but the same style but in different colors the pricing is) - Original Price $28 - Sales Price $19.60
Rose Gold Relic Watch from Kohl's (I purchased this item a while ago, I don't remember the original price but I got a really good deal on it.)

This is one of many outfits I own from Kohl's! I will certainly be posting more of my favorite outfits! Let me know what your favorite store is.

Quick Naked 3 Review

So I know I'm a bit late on the band wagon but I'm excited to share with you my thoughts on the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette! I've heard the craze about the Naked palettes for quite some time now but never really sought one out. With the first two palettes I've seen some beautiful natural and nude colors. But several months ago when they announced the Naked 3 was coming out and sneak peaks of their colors I knew I just had to have it. This palette unlike the other two were based on tones of rose gold. Different tones and shades that surely captivate the eye.

I asked for the Naked 3 palette for my birthday last month and I've certainly received it. I've been incorporating colors from the palette into my everyday eye looks. And even ventured into using pretty much most the colors in one look. There are 12 unique shades in this palette all based on rose gold tones with a mixture of mattes and shimmers. The first six shades called Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, and Trick, I feel are more of the soft pink rosey tones. The last bunch are called Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, and Blackheart. These are the darker, mauve shades that would definitely darken up any look. One look that has been my go - to makeup with the Naked 3 has been from a tutorial I saw on YouTube from KathleenLights. She has plenty of tutorials on looks that can be used with this palette. My favorite one is her Soft and Sultry tutorial. The combinations that can be used with these colors are endless.

The array of beautiful colors in this palette are perfect for any time of the day. From the class room or the work office during the day to a girls night out in the evening, the Naked 3 definitely has what you're looking for (It did for me). This is the first Naked palette I've received and I couldn't be more impressed.

I'm absolutely enjoying my time using the colors to try and come up with different looks. Truly has to be one of my favorite palettes and color combos. Let me know what looks you like to wear with this palette or different palettes that are worth a try!

Beauty Surprises

I don't know about you, but I just love when beauty products take me by surprise. When a lipstick you bought looks more gorgeous on than in the actual tube. Or the foundation that works just right with your skin. When products exceed your expectation of it. I've recently purchased items that have absolutely taken me by surprise.

I stopped by Ulta about a week and a half ago, and while inside I came across a collection of items that the brand Too Faced had put together. The collection was called Too Faced Beauty Blogger Darlings. It's an assortment of the four best products of this brand that have been raved about by other well known bloggers. Sold by the packaging and presentation, I decided to give it a go.

After trying these products out since then, two of the products stood out to me the most. The Shadow Insurance Eye Primer, and the Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. Two of the best products, in my opinion. I was very skeptical of how I would like the Shadow Insurance primer because I've been using Urban Decay's Primer Potion for years. Although UD's Primer Potion is still my top favorite eye primer, TF's Shadow Insurance certainly cuts a close second. I realized just how much I loved the TF primer after I got baptized last Sunday. Going back home after that I noticed even after being submerged in water that my eye shadow did not budge. I ended up redoing the rest of my face makeup except my eye shadow.

I have the deluxe sample size of the primer but a little really does go a long way. It has a tint to it right out of the tube but as soon as you apply it to your lids it's pretty much colorless (which I don't mind). The application of this primer is smooth and seamless and is certainly anti-crease just as it claims. Needless to say I'm very impressed with this product.

Moving on to the delicious - smelling Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. First thing I noticed about it (after I opened it of course) was that it indeed smells like chocolate; that is definitely a plus right there for me. Secondly, that it's matte which was just the kind I was looking for in a bronzer. I'm no makeup professional by any means so trying to find a really good bronzer is always a bit difficult. This one just came along with a few other deluxe samples and now it's my favorite. It gives me a sun kissed glow without looking orange or over done. This product is very pigmented so a light touch with my brush will do the trick for me.

Over all, I'm extremely happy with these two beauty items and they will surely be staying in my makeup kit. I have a feeling once I run out I'll be going back for more. If you're looking for a high end great working bronzer or a stay-in-place eye shadow primer I recommend these. If you have your own "Beauty Surprise" feel free to tell me about it so I can check them out as well!

Start of my Blogger journey.

Hello There,
Welcome to my new journey here on Blogger. I don't really know where to begin with this. Let's start by getting to know me a bit and what I hope to see come to this new writing release of mine.

My name is Jay, as you could probably guess from the title of this blog. (Until I can think of something more clever to put, if I do decide to change it haha.) I'm a twenty-one year old, Christian, student, and over all beauty and fashion lover. I hope that starting this blog is a useful way to help me grow creatively as well as being an outlet to rave about products I'm loving. Along with that, I'd like to post some of my favorite outfits to put together.

I'm excited to start posting and would love for you to come along for the ride! Comments, product suggestions and helpful critiques are welcome. Let the blogging journey begin!
